Hospitals are facing major challenges: There is a serious shortage of staff in medical and non-medical professions. In addition, staff are wasting a lot of time on non-patient, non-medical tasks. In addition, processes do not integrate with each other in many places, resulting in idle time and high costs.
Automation in hospitals has been almost non-existent up to now, as its implementation is too complex and thus too cost-intensive. In this project, a novel technology platform is being developed that will enable the introduction of automation in the form of digital and robotic services in hospitals to support staff. The project will develop a prototype technology platform that closes this gap. Together with software based on this platform, it will simplify, standardize and reduce the cost of introducing automation solutions in hospitals.
By automating hospital logistics and optimizing processes, hospital staff will in future be able to look after patients more intensively and better. At the same time, inefficient processes will be identified, optimized and facilitated.
The project "A technology platform for the system integration of digital and robotic services in hospitals" is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the European Social Fund as part of the EXIST program.
