Industrial Systems and Production Systems
Digitalization is an essential element of the future European industry. This allows better monitoring of processes and systems, knowledge generation and automated learning by means of artificial intelligence. This in turn enables the development of new automation and control concepts that increase the degree of automation of industrial systems.
The Industrial and Production Systems Department researches solutions for the automation and control of industrial systems in various application areas.
The research of the department includes modeling, control and optimization of manufacturing plants and industrial systems, such as machine tools, injection molding machines, weaving machines, climate systems, water systems, test benches and so forth.
